May 2026 U-Pickings at Cloverfield Organic Farm

Warm sunny days are here and Summer fruits and vegetables are soon going to be ready for harvest. Come visit Cloverfield Organic Farm on any Friday, Saturday, or Sunday from noon to five to select organic potted plants to grow in your own garden, fresh produce to enjoy, dried herbs and seeds, raw unfiltered honey, and to enjoy the beautiful gardens and orchards. Come too to say a quick "Hi" to Magic Ben our farm therapy horse.
Delicious fresh items that are ready for u-picking during the month of May include several fresh herbs: apple mint, chocolate mint, strawberry mint, orange mint, cilantro, Greek mountain tea, Greek oregano, lemon balm, sage, thyme, garlic chives, bay leaves, Kaffir lime leaves, parsley, rau ram, catnip, wormwood, epazote, dill, catnip, ginger root, ashwagandha, nettles, and anise hyssop.
Vegetables that are ready in the garden in May include lettuce, Swiss chard, fennel, red-veined sorrel, green onions, potatoes, beets, collards, kale, fava beans, and green onions. Garlics begin to fully ripen and form their bulbs in May, but they can be picked early while still green to use as fresh Spring garlic. There may even be a few sprigs of tender asparagus.
Edible flowers include roses, violas, calendulas, borage, English lavender, and elderflowers.
Fruits we expect to be ripe for u-picking in May include a few strawberries and sweet cherries. Wild green plums can be picked to make chutney or plum relish. Some people even enjoy snacking on the crunchy and sour wild green plums before they ripen. It's possible we might have our first crop of loquats to ripen and be ready to u-pick this year, during the month of May.
