2026 September Cloverfield Organic Farm Update

September is a great time to come u-pick, participate in a farm event, or host a picnic!

Summer is winding down and the days are getting shorter. Interestingly, the weather also warms up in September as we get less morning fog. This is the perfect weather for ripening figs and pomegranates, which enjoy the warm dry days this time of year.

On Thursday, September 10, we are hosting an evening music concert. The music will be Not Too Loud and suitable for all ages. If you arrive early, you will be able to tour the farm and do a bit of u-picking before the music starts.

Another event in September is the El Sobrante Stroll. Held on Sunday, September 20. This year’s highly anticipated stroll theme is "Out of This World," promising an extraordinary day of community pride, live entertainment, and family-friendly fun. For one day only, a half-mile stretch of San Pablo Dam Road (between El Portal Drive and Appian Way) will completely close to vehicular traffic, transforming the town's main thoroughfare into a bustling, pedestrian-only open street festival expected to draw over 25,000 visitors.  Attending the stroll is free. Along with about 100 other different local vendors, we will have a booth at the stroll and you can come visit us to ask questions about gardening, learn about our farm, and purchase some of our potted nursery plants.

We are open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, from noon to five for visitors to come visit our farm, shop in our shed and nursery, and u-pick fresh organic fruits, herbs, flowers and vegetables. Everything we grow is certified as USDA organic by OCIA International and the Real Organic Project.

Delicious items available for u-picking in September include corn on the cob, golden berries, apples, Chilean guavas, tomatoes, basil, oregano, spicy manzano peppers, tomatillos, beets, kale, collards, Swiss chard, rhubarb, squashes, pumpkins, figs, cucumbers, horseradish, ginger roots, lemon verbena, rau ram, red-veined sorrel, green onions, mints, Malabar spinach, New Zealand spinach, quince, lemon balm, catnip, cactus pears, wormwood, elderberries, thyme, rosemary, epazote, Thai lime leaves, and bay leaves.. Ripe pomegranates should be ready to u-pick towards the end of September.

We will also have a beautiful selection of edible flowers to u-pick, including yarrow, anise hyssop, sunflowers, zinnias, cosmos, hollyhocks, dahlias, and amaranth. Flowers play an important role at our farm by supplying pollen and nectar for many beneficial insects. Having plentiful flowers assures we will have good quantities of raw honey to harvest and no need to apply pesticides.

We have free parking and we supply the harvest equipment (baskets, pint containers, and clippers) you will need.
