In addition to fruits, vegetables, and herbs, we also grow beautiful organic flowers. Many of the flowers we cultivate are edible too! We aim to have about 10% of our crop area in bloom at any given time. Flowers attract and feed beneficial insects, contributing to a healthy ecosystem. They also support plentiful honey production.
Integrating flowers around our farm enables us to grow our other crops without pesticides. Additionally, they bring so much beauty and joy to our environment!
The Importance of Flowers in Our Ecosystem
Flowers play a crucial role in our ecosystem. They attract beneficial insects like bees and butterflies, which help pollinate a variety of plants. By having a diverse range of flowers, we can ensure healthy crop yields.
Moreover, flowers can provide an ecological balance. They help control pests naturally, which is essential for organic farming. As a result, we can maintain soil health and produce better-quality crops.
