The long days of June are a fantastic time to visit our small organic farm in the East Bay hills of El Sobrante, California. June is also Magic Ben's birthday month. Our vegetable beds are well-stocked with a variety of produce. You'll find rhubarb, onions, herbs, beets, pak choy, Swiss chard, and other leafy greens.
Plenty to Pick and Grow
Our organic plant nursery offers potted grapes, asparagus, elderberries, strawberries, currants, figs, rhubarb, Bababerry raspberries, hops, edible flowers, and various herbs. We still have pots of tomato starts, making it a great time to plant them in your home garden.

In early June, u-picking unripe green wild plums is a fun activity. You can turn them into delicious chutneys and pickles. Ripe strawberries and raspberries may also be available. Additionally, wilder red currants ripen throughout the month. If you're lucky and the birds don’t get to them first, you might find luscious Pakistan mulberries in our mulberry trees.
As June goes on, you can expect many more stone fruits to be ripe for picking, including pluots, wild plums, and apriums.
Beautiful Blooms to Enjoy
You can u-pick beautiful and edible flowers in June. Some options include calendulas, Sweetheart roses, violas, cornflowers, yarrow, daylilies, elderflowers, hyssop, hollyhocks, nasturtiums, cosmos, and borage.

Our farm also features a wide variety of herbs available for picking. These include chocolate mint, apple mint, orange mint, and strawberry mint, along with Greek oregano, German thyme, lemon balm, rosemary, absinthe wormwood, and more. For herbal enthusiasts, we offer garlic chives, motherwort, rau ram, Kaffir lime leaves, catnip, bay leaves, sheep sorrel, stinging nettles, Greek mountain tea, and epazote.
In the farm shed, we sell dried herbs, marshmallow root, a few seeds, and Cloverfield raw honey. We make sure there’s something for everyone!

Special Events and Tours
Our farm is also a wonderful location for special events. You can book a private tour, therapy horse interaction, picnic, field trip, or other gatherings on our website. We focus on providing a memorable experience for you and your loved ones.
On the weekend of June 19, 20, and 21 we are celebrating Magic Ben's 21st Birthday! Magic Ben is our farm therapy horse. We invite all of you to come out and regale him. The parties will be held all three days, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. It is optional to bring something to share with Magic Ben, or with other humans. Magic Ben will have a big watermelon cake.

Our physical location is at 501 La Paloma Rd., El Sobrante, CA 94803. We’re open Friday through Sunday, from noon to five. Enjoy free parking, and there is no entrance fee. You only pay for what you pick, with each 'bunch' of fresh-picked fruits or vegetables priced at $6.
Payment Options
We accept most forms of payment. You can pay with Apple Pay, Venmo, debit or credit cards, EBT, or cash. This flexibility makes it easier for you to enjoy the fruits of your labor and the beauty of our farm.
