Grapes to U-Pick and Even Grow Yourself

At Cloverfield Organic Farm we continue to grow and trial different grape varieties to see which ones are healthy and productive in our farm's micro-climate in El Sobrante. Visitors to our farm can pick delicious and juicy ripe grapes right from our grapevines.

Grapevines are a beautiful and productive crop to grow in a home vineyard or arbor. One plant can produce a bounty of delicious vine-ripened fruit. The broad leaves are edible and provide a gentle welcome shade.

We propagate and sell the best of our grapes and we have certified organic grape plants available for purchase most times of the year. Our grapes are grown on their own roots and are hardened off and ready to plant.

The key to the Expected Ripening Time for El Sobrante is shown below this table. Other micro-climates will have different timing, but the same approximate order of ripening.

Concord Seedless	no	American	Blue-Black; medium	M	Rich, full-bodied grapey flavor. Most commonly used to make grape juice and jelly.
Emeryville Pink	yes	American	Pink; large	LM	Sweet fruit with tiny seeds.  Good producer in cool Bay Area climate.
Gewurztraminer	yes	European	Light pink; medium	E	Lychee and stone fruit aromas and flavors, as well as tropical fruit, distinctive spice (ginger, lemongrass), and floral notes.
Himrod	no	American	Yellow; medium	VE	Sweet and crisp fruit with delicate, pineapple & honey-like flavor and a melting, juicy texture.
Marechal Foch	yes	Am/Eur Hybrid	Purple; small	E	Tiny purple berries with deep cherry-red juice.
Shiraz	yes	European	Black; medium	LM	Wine grape with herbal fruit notes.  Makes a rich red wine.

Cloverfield Organic Farm is located at 501 La Paloma Rd, in El Sobrante, California. We are open to the public on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in the afternoons. Other visiting times and services can be booked on our website at www.cloverfieldfarm.us
