We are often asked "What is the best time to come to u-pick at Cloverfield Organic Farm?" July might just be the best answer to that question. We are now into our summer harvest season and we have small amounts of many different things (all certified organic!) that you can u-pick into a farm basket in July.
Stone fruits are available this time of year - wild cherry plums, pluots, plums, peaches, and apriums are in season. Other things to fresh u-pick include edible flowers, elderflowers, Himalayan wild blackberries, white alpine strawberries, California bay leaves, grape leaves, Makrut Thai lime leaves, Absinthe wormwood, ashwagandha leaves, zucchini, patty pan squash, chocolate mint, apple mint, strawberry mint, orange mint, radishes, Greek oregano, nettles, catnip, sorrel, lettuce, escarole, marshmallow leaves, Swiss chard, Malabar spinach leaves, amaranth leaves, horseradish leaves or roots, yellow ginger, thyme, purslane, nopales, garlic chives, green onions, rhubarb, kales, collards, green beans, borage, sunflowers, fennel, epazote, sage, anise hyssop, rosemary, rau ram, lemon balm, lemon verbena, beets, and parsley. It's possible there might even be our first ripe summer apples (Anna, Ghost, & Dorsett Golden).

Cucumbers and tomatoes should be flowering and available for u-picking later in the month and into the fall.
A large farm basket filled with about 6-7 different things that you u-pick fresh from the garden is $36. A single pint basket (or bunch) of fruits, flowers, vegetables, or herbs is $6. Our certified organic potted nursery plants range in price from $7 to $35 each. We have dried herbs, seeds, and raw Cloverfield honey in the shed and the items in the shed are individually packaged and priced (from $3 to $27). Most dried organic herbs are $10/oz.
Our regular u-pick hours are Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from noon to five. You don’t need a reservation to come u-pick during our regular u-pick hours. We have alternate times for reserved tours and events on our website, which you can reserve at least four days in advance. Another reserved service that we offer are private horse interactions with Magic Ben, hosted by Karen Rose Mathews.
We have free parking. Cash, Venmo, credit/debit cards, Paypal, and EBT are all accepted.
If you love farming and would like to join in the fun, we are holding a Summer volunteer day at the end of July, on July 30. Wear sturdy shoes and bring your garden gloves. We will provide all the tools and instructions.

We hope that you will have an enjoyable time visiting our organic farm, filling your farm basket, and learning more about real organic farming!
