2025 June at Cloverfield Organic Farm

The long days of June are a fantastic time to make a trip to come visit and u-pick at our small organic farm tucked in the East Bay hills of El Sobrante, California. We keep the vegetable beds well-stocked with garlics, onions, herbs, beets, potatoes, and leafy greens. Tomatoes, cucumbers and squashes are just a few weeks away.

Our organic plant nursery is well-stocked with potted grapes, asparagus, elderberries, strawberries, currants, figs, edible flowers, and several different herbs. We still have pots of tomato starts and it is not too late to plant them in your home garden.

Unripe green wild plums are fun to u-pick and make into delicious chutneys or other pickles early in June. There might be a few ripe Lapins cherries and strawberries to be found during the month of June. Wilder red currants ripen in June also. If you are lucky and the birds don't get to them first, we have lucious Pakistan mulberries that ripen in the mulberry trees. Later in the month of June there will be many more stone fruits ripe and ready to u-pick, including pluots, wild plums, and apriums.

Bouquets of beautiful and edible flowers can be u-picked in June, including calendulas, Sweetheart roses, violas, cornflowers, yarrow, daylilies, elderflowers, hyssop, hollyhocks, nasturtiums, chamomile, cosmos, and borage.
