These seeds can be planted and/or used as a culinary herb.  These are the flavorful seeds that give Italian sausage it's delicious flavor.  Eating the seeds improves digestion and they make a tasty soothing tea.  Swallowtail butterflies eat the fresh leaves of this plant and the flowers attract many beneficial insects.  The yellow flowers are called 'fennel pollen'.
